Discover why Teide National Park is the most visited in Europe!
We will be guided through the most amazing landscape of Las Cañadas del Teide discovering the history and volcanic geological formation as we make our way to the lower cable car station.
Taking just a staggeringly short 8 minutes to travel vertically 1000 metres we will arrive at the top station just 200 metres shy of the peak of Teide.
Teide, at 3,718 metres is the highest mountain peak in Spain and the third highest volcano in the world when measured from the seabed. Erruptions, quakes and lava flows over milenia have formed the dramatic landscape of Las Cañadas del Teide.
Once at the top cable car station we have three main paths and viewpoints to take advantage of:
1 - La Rambleta viewpoint - just aside of the top station offers poramic views of Siete Cañadas and the Ucanca Valley. (cañada = valley)
2 - Trail to the viewpoint of Pico Viejol - stunning views of the south fields of Las Cañadas and the 800 metre diameter crater of Pico Viejo and also, with most days being clear, the neighbouring islands of Tenerife.
3 - Trail to the viewpoint of La Fortaleza - Slightly more dificult to access that the others but once here you survey the north of Tenerife with its forests and cliffs.
You won´t be alone as this tour offers a guide with you on the bus and whilst up the mountain you can enjoy the Teide Legend digital audio guide (available in 8 languages being Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Russian). This audio guide will describe the three trails and the history, geology and biodiversity of the National Park,
The excursion also includes our Science and Legend exhibition located in the Teide Cable Car Visitor Centre (base station). Through this exhibition, you will learn about the last great eruption of Teide, which occurred approximately 1,000 years ago, and how the ancient Guanches interpreted this natural phenomenon as a battle between their gods. With the audio guide, you can explore this exhibition in the language of your choice.
ECO TOUR! Our collective transport tours are the best way to enjoy Teide in an enviromentaly responsible way and reducing the impact to and conserving of this World Heritage Site.
